Formation Opportunities
Columbia students, faculty, and alumni are offered a full range of programs organized and sponsored by the Merton Institute—classes in Catholic theology, lectures and seminars on Christian thought and culture, conversations with accomplished professionals, spiritual direction, and more. All of the Institute’s activities seek to inculcate the enduring richness and wisdom of a Catholic vision of life and help people to discern, embrace, and live out their human and Christian vocation in the service of the Church and society.

Courses on the Faith
Throughout the school year, we host mini-courses to educate students on specific aspects of the faith. For example, during the Fall of 2024, students learned about the Theology of the Body.

Retreats
The retreat chair for Columbia Catholic Ministry organizes a retreat for students once a semester. Upcoming retreats can always be found in our Newsletter.
Furthermore, many students attend the FOCUS conference, SEEK, each January.
